Race 3 is 7 furlongs in length. The race is for three year olds and upward who have never won two races. This $11,500 claiming race has eleven horses in the field. The morning line favorite is the 9 horse, Gone to Seattle, at 3-1. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. First, Gone to Seattle has not performed well lately, especially the last race, which was just below this level.
In that $10,000 claiming race, Gone to Seattle got off to a good start, but had trouble when challenged. He tried to make a race of it, but finishing in fourth was the best he could muster. He also proved that he is not a horse too much above this level. Unless he became a new horse in the past two weeks, I just don’t see him winning. Finishing in the money is possible.
Another horse that figures to get some action is Hi-Def in the 3 spot. The morning line has him at 5-1. His blinkers will be off for this race. He has shown some impressive ability, but getting caught appears to be a downfall. Still, he’s capable of getting ahead of this field and running away with it. Should a battle ensure, Military Lawyer might present his case as a closer for this race. He’s at 6-1 in the morning line.
