The two top horses are positioned next to each other in the 1 and 2 spot. The one horse is Mt. Rhodes (7-2) and the two horse is Jab Jab Pow (5-2). Both horses are listed at 117 and on Lasix.

Mt. Rhodes looks to be good on paper, but I am thinking he might have issues with this sprint race. He looks to be a route runner. Mt. Rhodes is a 4 year old gelding. Both of his wins came in routes. They also come when he takes the early lead. He’s had trouble at this distance and when he must battle. At 7-2, I am not sure I like this horse.

Jab Jab Pow is a 5 year old gelding. Aside from the jockey (K P LeBlanc 17%), there is not too much going on here. Sure the field might be weak, but this horse is nothing too special. He drops down in class, perhaps trying to get a win. He’s a bit of a closer. This might be a good thing in this race.

Long shot pick: Meaux Joe Go

Meaux Joe Go is listed at 20-1 on the morning line and he has just as good of a shot as most of these horses. He can win at this level and the new trainer might prove to be good (Marks Brandon 19%). There is some question as to how he will like the track. His first race on this track was horrible. If you need a big long shot for exotics, take a look at this horse.
