Golden Gate Fields Race 3

Race three at Golden Gate Fields is five furlongs in length. This $12,500 claiming race is for fillies and mares that are at least three years old. Today’s field consists of six horses. Half of the field is comprised of four year olds and the other half is five year olds. The favorite, at 2-1 in the morning line, is Reasonably Brite in the one position. The conditions of this race are that the horse has not won more than one race since July 01.

#1 Reasonably Brite: She has been a force on the track. She has finished in the money in her last six races. She has won three of those races and finished second—all by two lengths or less—in the other three. She also won 3 of her other 4 races. He lone poor start was back on April 19. She dueled, tired and gave out. It’s hard to not bet on this horse. Stats: 10 races, 6 wins, 3 places, and one poor start.

#2 Infinate Olympian: 5-1 on the morning line. She was raced on turf her last time out and showed in a $6,250 allowance race. Duran will be riding her and she has the stuff to compete at this level.

#3 Normandy Princess: 6-1 on the morning line. She was raced in a $12,500 claiming race 11 days ago and she didn’t look good. She dueled, turned wide, and was stopped for a 6th out of 6 horses finish. She’ll probably duel early and try to be a pace setter today.

#4 Please Lord: She’s shown up strong at this level. Her last three races were $12,500 claimers and she’s won one and placed in the other two. She’s a pace setter. The trend seems to be for her to fade down the stretch—giving up the lead. She’s 5-2 on the money line. I don’t think she can win this race, but finishing in the money is a possibility.

#5 Itsallatrick: Possible “drop for a win” here. She’s listed at 10-1 on the morning line. Here last three races were $40,000 allowance races. This won’t be the first time she’s dropped in class to scoop up some money. On March 23, she was dropped from the allowance races to a $25,000 claimer—higher than today. She finished second in that race. After the claimer, she was brought back up to the allowance races. There might be a pattern emerging. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

#6 Sweet Kendall Jo: 7-2 on the morning line. She should compete at this level. Her last race was on August 21 and she was blown up and stopped. Baze is riding her again and he has won two recent races with her at this level. However, those were on turf. She’s only run on dirt two times. Both times she got great starts, but faded fast. I think she will be in it early on, but fade around the turn.
