Race four is a one mile turf race. It’s a $31,500 Allowance Race for three year olds and upward that have never won three races. Also all horses have not won a race of one mile or more since June 10. There are ten possible horses in this field. This race seems fairly even. The favorite, according to the morning line, is Zim and Torre. He is a four year old gelding and is predicted to go off at 3-1. I am a bit uneasy about this horse.
He has not raced in a month and his last race showed some tremendous closing speed. However, prior to that, there’s a real lack of turf effort. Something just looks wrong here. I am going to pick a good price here and go with Court Approval at 6-1 on the morning line. He’s a 4 year old gelding with real potential on turf. His last race was a $20,000 N3L Claiming race and he destroyed the field.
He’s got a good jockey/trainer combo and all the right figures for turf, allowance races and distance. I think he is primed to come away with this race. At any rate, the odds are good that he will finish in the money and he should go off at a nice price. I look for the money to come in on Zim and Torre, Nine Ballads and Go Lucky Go. Who knows, we just might be able to get Court Approval at an even better price.
